Going out like a fucking meteor!

breathing-fire

I came across this quote and it is so apt for me right now, that I have to share it here:

I want to live the rest of my life, however long or short,
with as much sweetness as I can decently manage,
loving all the people I love,
and doing as much as I can of the work I still have to do.
I am going to write fire until it comes out of my ears,
my eyes, my noseholes – everywhere.
Until it’s every breath I breathe.
I’m going to go out like a fucking meteor!

― Audre Lorde

And this too needs to be read at my burial party, by someone who’s doing it too. Fight amongst yourselves. x

About Jet Black

I began blogging because having been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, I wanted to share my experiences of living with an incurable cancer. Through blogging, I discovered that I enjoy writing. I have always chosen to live life for the journey, more than the destination. This is as true for the act of writing as it is for living with myeloma, so these are two things I do: I live and I write!
